Ugh.
I'm always interrupting people to tell them to tell me what they want to have done so I can get to it, and leave out the life story and how everything makes them feel.
Ugh, again.
... and can we please leave the fandom bashing elsewhere? News flash; pop culture sources get everything wrong.

heh...not all furries are bad...i think half-animal humans are hot... then again, i'm a bit weird...werewolves (done right) are mysterious, exotic and exciting... but creepy dudes with no life wanting to dress up like dogs for people who have no interest? ought to be neutered. with a spade.

Quoth JoitheArtist View PostThe majority of the people I work with pull crap like that (except for Awesome Boss and Art Dept Girl). It's infuriating, inefficient, and makes me less likely to want to co-operate.
I feel your pain!
Instead of being straight-forward and direct, I have to water down my words and accept responsibility and blame for things that have nothing to do with me. Wouldn't want to offend anyone!
Simple things like "Hey Co-worker X, you fucked up - can you fix this?" turn into "Hey Co-Worker X, I'm probably misreading your writing or misunderstanding what you did here but..." And "Hey Boss Y, you forgot to do something you promised, and now my ass is getting chewed" becomes "Hey Boss Y, I probably forgot to bring this to your attention so I apologize - this customer needs Z for this case. Could you help pretty please with sugar on top?"
So I can understand how frustrating that can be in dealing with customers.Be a winner today: Pick a fight with a 4 year old.

I have to admit, I am one of those passive-aggressive people. I'm the one in the corner silently plotting to have you disemboweled. Please don't hold it against me? I promise I'm usually a nice person. Honest.I am no longer of capable of the emotion you humans call “compassion”. Though I can feign it in exchange for an hourly wage. (Gravekeeper)

Normally, I'm my usual blunt self, telling them what they did and how to avoid it, but some days, it's just not worth the drama.
On that note, I once got let go from a long-term temp contract because I focused on fixing a mistake I made and getting on with my work as opposed to flipping out and prostrating myself before the brass.
Quoth Hobbs View PostI just don't do anapomorphic[sic] cosplays. I've done a cos for my own manga, though...so maybe I'm just as bad.

Yup! Cosplay is cosplay; it's all just a difference of flavor (sci-fi, anime, furry, etc) and degree.

I've found I am now very passive-aggressive once a customer pushes my buttons. And a complete ass if someone's speaking on a phone.

Quoth Record Store Tough Guy View PostDepending on the convention, sweat would be the least of his worries. But you did say it was next month, so that rules out Dragon*Con...

Indeed. I've never been to Anthrocon, but many of my customers go. Anybody see a lion with blue tear marks under his eyes there (so unique and speshul! :P ) You can pop him in the nose for me! Well, actually, better not. I'd probably end up doing the repair work on the suit if you did.
(I should note though that people here have been making assumptions because I never said the guy was a furry. In this case he happens to be, but I do also make costumes for the stage, for charitable organizations, for LARPers, and I even did one for a movie once. Many of my customers are furries, but not all of them are. And none of them are those perverts from CSI/SomethingAwful/wherever else you've been hearing those stories. I do NOT make that kind of costume. Not trying to start any fratching here, but I just wanted to say. Be careful about assumptions, you know what they make you...)The best advice is this: Don't take advice and don't give advice. ~Author Unknown
