Where the HELL was camp like this when *I* was eleven years-old (when I first started playing)!?!!?

    OTOH
    I'm afraid, very afraid,
I'm in the process of opening my own gaming store (pen and paper, cards, figurines), and I'm sure I'll have tons of stories like this!
I just hope to GOD you don't get people like what the other party has. Half of them don't even want to GO to D&D camp.

One of them, who also appears in Ultimate Hissy Fit, just sits in the corner listening to music, and if anything so much as hits his character he gets up and leaves the room.

Check out my comic. I write, my friend Red draws. Comments welcome. Leave them on their, or on my profile here.

*chuckle* Do we have a thread in Off Topic for DND/RPG stories? I did a search but nothing seemed to jump out at me as one.
      Could this be the one?

Sure. I'm not running right now, but I can set you up in one of our regular groups. Of course, we're in the Southern Ohio area, in the vicinity of Middletown and South Dayton. OH, we also tend to oddball games like Mekton Zeta, Rolemaster, and such. Currently playing: Rolemaster set in Middle Earth in the times leading up to the beginning of the events in Lord of the Rings; Car Wars & GURPS; and Shadowrun universe done up in the Cyberpunk/Mekton rules. We're also looking to start up (sometime in the next few months) a classic T.M.N.T game, possibly modern-day or After the Bomb. Send me a PM if interested.
        You actually play Rolemaster?

Andara, we're moving to Ohio, right? =^_^=

(Seriously, Rolemaster is one of my favorite systems, right up there with Hero System)

My (just turned) 9 year old son has become interested in D&D, and keeps pestering ME about it.

He was intrigued by the idea of a summer camp for it.

          Heh
you are = you're. not "your".

Yup, and my friend who is running it knows the system well enough that "Chart Law" doesn't slow up the game too much. I'm playing a half-elf army thief scout/spy.

Now there is an incentive to "play nice"...

              [/sarcasm]

But, of course, intentionally driving off an annoying player is wrong.

(For certain unreasonable definitions of "wrong", of course... none of which I happen to use. )

I would also just like to say that...

                  Shit...

(Seriously, I'm pretty agnostic on the subject, though a lot of that is playing in games where the GM doesn't feel enslaved to stat-based rules... and is death on D20 systems. )

64 sided dice? Bah. Kid's stuff. I liked the literally 100-sided die my ex roomie had. Thing was basically a golfball.

I believe the gaming thread would work well for that. After all, it's still gaming. No reason it can't go in there.

As for D&D, I'm told I play a very convincing Kender...
Piss off the Munchkin, play a maxed Dex/Cha kinder. They're helpless against them!

My best character was a kinder. His name was Noah and his twin sister was Nada. Their mother was Dara. Family name?

Lego has some interesting dice in the new games they're releasing this year. You can change the faces on them. Lego dice, select the "more views" feature, scroll right for close-up of die.

I have some NPC reaction dice, which have various faces, ranging from big smile - happy to see you; to angry scowl - PCs must die.
