I'd understand. You know it happens in the winter here, with the freezing and all. No biggie.

Now, if more places had a "prespeaker" board like I've seen at a couple of them, that would solve the problem.
We had one. They would try to order at it. Then when they'd get to the speaker they'd shriek "DIDN'T YOU GET MY ORDER AT THE OTHER SPEAKER" so we did away with it.

Good, I feel a lot better.

A lot of manual windows freeze up in the winter, but that only gives me an excuse 9 months out of the year

I'm not dressed like a madame or anything, I just am one of those people who don't like being seen in pjs or yesterday's clothes and I think I smell after I tan.

I know it. I keep asking my boss for a Taser but he thinks I'd misuse it.

I worked at Dairy Queen in high school for three years. We were one of the bigger stores with the full Brazier (hot food) menu, so we were open year-round. We were also one of the only ones around without a drive-thru.

A lady stormed into the store once, screaming about how no one was working at the drive-thru window today blah blah blah. We were like, "Ma'am, we don't have a drive-thru at this store."

We figured out she had been talking to the garbage can on the far side of the building.

Does anyone else hate the "canned" greeting that is becoming widespread at drive thru operations. I absolutely hate the smooth professionally produced presell of some item they're trying to push, then silence as you supposed to order. Followed by normal people sounding freakish due to screwed up communication equipment. I would think that a business would invest in decent equipment when drive thru accounts for a substantial potion of the revenue.

Why aren't the other ones open all year?

Damn good thing I wasn't drinking anything. The garbage can?

Because I live in Minneapolis. The smaller stores that don't have a place to sit inside aren't open from about October to February.

                      And yes, a garbage can.
