My ex has always thought I'm a couple sizes/cup sizes bigger than I really am. I'm probably a 32B, tops (TBH I have no clue what my cup size is, only that I'm tiny).

He keeps trying to tell me I'm a 38/40 (I suspect you have no idea what you're talking about) Yes my costume is a 38, but I have street clothes underneath; also, a form-fitting uniform is just silly.

I can't wear my old bras from high school....for one, they would probably be so worn and nasty that it'd be digusting, and for two, I was bigger chested when I was a teenager.

I'm already trying everything possible to prevent sagging. Wearing a bra that's too big is probably NOT a good idea.

I, too, should look into getting myself sized. I haven't had more than one or two decent-fitting bras since I first started wearing the suckers.

And I would HATE to be the person who fits women for bras because I realize that while I'm not particularly sensitive about their size, many are. I can't imagine they're pleased when you tell them that the cup size is smaller and the size itself is larger than they thought.

They'd get over it a hell of a lot easier if they'd just take my advice and cut the tag off....or black it out or write their preferred size on it.

Yes, there have been a few pairs of jeans in my closet that have had a big black "2" written on the tags.

It helped me get over it.

I seriously need you to measure me. I have no idea what size I am and VS told me way too small. As in I probably stretched the elasticity out of submission. Do you work for a chain? Because, if so, I may go to a local one next time I need to underwear shop. PM me if you do, please
Me too. I was wearing a 32A until I started BC pills and gained weight. Now I'm wearing a 34B, but I'm not sure if it's correct.

I used to buy cheap bras in sizes 34 B or C. When I could afford better, I went to an actual lingerie store and found out I'm 32 D/DD. Of course I believed the bra fitter, she's the pro and I knew something more than quality was wrong. Now I go only there when I need bras, I even like shopping for em now and hated it before.

Will you come fit me please? :uppydog eyes:: Since reduction surgery I have no idea what size I am anymore and I can't keep wearing sports bras to work. I swear I'll believe whatever size you tell me.

I would be one of the rare women happy to find that I'm smaller than I think I am.

I absolutely DETEST bra shopping. I'm a 40H. If I can find a store that carries my size, I'm usually reduced to 2, *MAYBE* three white or off-white full coverage bras. No sexy lace, no cheerful colors, no dainty frills or anything. Just white industrial-strength elastic bands. It sucks. I go with my GF's to Victoria's Secret and sit there and secretly wish I could fit into the gorgeous bras they have.
neecy, you have my most sincere sympathy. I know exactly how you feel. A girlfriend of mine took me to a VS to get some bras for herself while we were out one day, and pulled a sales rep over to the side and asked if they had anything that would fit me, and the bitch giggled. My friend never shopped there again.

D'aawwww, I'd love to come fit you all! If you're ever in Southern Florida, send me a note and I will direct you to the lands of bountiful bras of many shapes and sizes and colors. I will work until I find one that fits. T^T *tears of great justice*

I would love to get fit for a bra sometime...the local VS, though...ehhh. After one circuit of the store and not seeing a single bra larger than 36C, and being surrounded by little stick teenagers giggling over pink lace, I was too embarassed to ask for a fitting. And I'm not THAT big, I'm only a 40C. I had to spend an hour in the fitting room to find that out though...my self-measuring is off somehow. I forget what I measured but the bras in that size don't fit at ALL.

I too have had bad experiences at VS. The most memorable was on my honeymoon, and I had forgotten to bring my antidepressants. That made everything seem about 4 times as bad as it actually was.

I had grabbed several cute things to buy, and wanted to try on a corset they had. I took it into the fitting room, and could not get it fastened- there was a long row of those little hooks, and I could not for the life of me get more than 4 of them fastened. In tears already (remember, I was overreacting) I came out and asked DH for help.

A nearby saleswoman overheard, and rushed over to inform us that he was not allowed in the fitting room. Yes, I understand the reasoning behind that. I asked her for help, but she refused to come in and help me herself, too. How was I supposed to get it on, then? Gripping my unruly emotions as firmly as I could, I handed her the $300 worth of merchandise I had been planning to buy, and walked out without saying another thing.

Also, what is it with their teensy size range?! Both of my friends (yeah, sad, I only have 2) are well endowed. They have such trouble finding bras that actually fit!

I need to get myself re-sized. Lost some weight and the braks just aren't fitting as well as they used to. Unfortunately, I have no money for new underoos quite yet, so I'm resorting to doubling the bra stuffers, to keep everything situated and where it should be.

                          1) Sounds like you have a great boss... Too many posters here have bosses/supervisors/managers who fold faster than a full-service laundraumat when a customer tries to return old used goods. A team of CS researchers will be around to collect her DNA in the hopes that we can duplicate this much-needed trait.

                          2) It may have taken a while, but it sounds like you earned a loyal customer in story #2. Again, too many more would have stomped away, called for a supervisor, raised hell, etc. Congratulations.

My boss is absolutely amazing. She's tough as nails, no-nonsense and speaks her minds to the customers, but sometimes she has to fold because of the store policy. She hates it as much as I do and only folds as a last resort. I consider myself very lucky to have her as my boss. Someday I'll post some Golden Oldies from my old boss. UGH.

Well, I know nothing about the mysteries of women's underwear, but I can offer the official perspective of Y-chromosome and say that men can get vanity attacks as well...You do NOT want to buy size 36 underwear when you take a 40. Trust me. There are consequences.

I'm convinced that sizes for men are more or less chosen at random anyway. I've got size 36 jeans that are looser than size 40 jeans. Same brand. Same color, in fact.

...You can have the topic back now.

I'm a dude, but even I know VS is like the Hot Topic of undies, all made for teeny boppers and not real people.

I bet locally owned and smaller chains have much more realistic product and service.
