Nice is not the word I would describe that woman...and to think she's having children...and the horrors of how they could turn out to be like that.

i agree we're all human, but to get someone fired (yes, the girl was stupid for making a decision outside her authority) then brag about it and send a relative to pull the same stunt doesn't qualify as a mere bad episode.
more than likely, she's done this sort of thing before; i'd be checking the want ads and soon, just to be on the safe side.
look! it's ghengis khan!
Sorry, but while I can do many things, extracting heads from anuses isn't one of them. (so sayeth the irv)
So...she's happy she got somebody fired for doing something she wanted them to do?
I can't let the salesperson off the hook--if somebody's trying to haggle you down you just say no and if they persist call a manager to continue telling them no--but man is your boss a shrew. I feel sorry for the baby daddy, and everybody who's going to be dealing with her kids once she gets her SC teachings into their heads.

"I never said I wasn't a horrible person."--Me, almost daily
I agree what she did was down right...well unthinkable. And I posted it because, hell I was so darn shocked that she was actually able to do that. The reason, BECAUSE she's actually kind and caring towards me.
But then to see this side of her :S dear god! I'm glad I'm there to be honest. At least by me being the Nanny I can attempt to teach the children that getting a person fired is NOT something you do. You want something for nothing, you make sure it works for both parties whomever/whatever they may be.
hope I didn't contradict myself too much there
I am evil, I should change my middle name legally TO evil, I'm proud of my evilness!Makes life fun! bwhaha
I'm a very nice lady. I'm also a vindictive, arrogant bitch.
But even so, I don't revel in the pain of others. No matter what.
No? What about people who desperately deserve it? Who piss you off? Who do something to you or your family? You don't revel in their pain?
I try not to revel in others' pain, but I would be lying if I said I never did that. I am vindictive, as I have said before, and part of that is very much reveling in the pain of those that I feel deserve it.
My ex-girlfriend, That Vile Woman, in trouble with the law from her own doing? I giggled, yes. And danced. And reveled.
My friend TD's ex, who either killed her or drove her to her death? No pain is too much for him as long as he is walking around upright and breathing. And I will revel in that.
My two previous ex-roommates, who respectively irritated me and screwed me over, both in jail on separate felony counts? Oh, yeah, kind of amusing to me.
The dipshit that verbally abused me at work only to get thrown out and banned from The Bar by my awesome manager? Oh, you better believe it.
I don't revel too much in others' pain, no, but sometimes, it is downright deserved.
(As before, this is a philosophical argument separate from the OP's boss...she is a raging bitch, as I have said.)
I agree what she did was down right...well unthinkable. And I posted it because, hell I was so darn shocked that she was actually able to do that. The reason, BECAUSE she's actually kind and caring towards me.
She's kind and caring towards you because it serves her purposes to do so. She has shown her true colors by reveling in what she did to the salesperson. If the time comes when it is no longer convenient for her to be nice to you, trust that she will not be.
we all have our dance with schadenfreude, jester; no arguments there. i may be gleeful initially, but as time goes by, i'm happy with the fact that those types are no longer in my life.
yes, as jester stated, once it's no longer convienient for her to be 'nice' to you, you'll see her true self emerge, and it will be worse than you imagine.
look! it's ghengis khan!

No? What about people who desperately deserve it? Who piss you off? Who do something to you or your family? You don't revel in their pain?
Well, honestly, no. Not really.
I'm not going to lie and say that when people do shitty things and then get hoist on their own petard I dont' enjoy it. I do. The asshole that gets his car towed, the bitchy person who exits a ladies room with toilet paper stuck to her shoe or even the dumbass as the zoo that got his hand perforated by an angry cockatoo? Yeah. Funny. Hilarious, actually.
But real pain? Like not being able to feed your family or contracting cancer or getting hit by a car? Naw. Maybe if someone did something REALLY horrible to me or mine, but God forbid, nobody's really done anything that bad.
I mean, I've seen some bad things happen to folks that have wronged me. I just didn't feel any sort of enjoyment from hearing about it.
Example: I thought it was fitting and very, very satisfying that a bond company was looking for my ex roomate for DUI. Broad owed me about a thousand bucks and we parted ways after she ATTACKED me one night. She was out driving drunk quite a bit. I was glad it finally bit her in the ass, she asked for it. I wanted her to stop driving drunk before she killed someone. However, when I saw her years later, a paranoid, financially strapped, mentally fragile alchoholic, all it did was make me sad.
I agree with you. I would love it if my aunt would just drop off the face of the earth, but I do not require her to suffer needlessly; I just want her out of my life (yes I am planning on moving, but that's a whole other ball of wax).
I have felt good when people get what they deserve, but I certainly don't feel gleeful when it is an unhappy situation to begin with.
I have never been able to reconcile in my mind the mentality of a person who will hapily have someone lose thier job, so they can save a couple of bucks on some consumer product or service. And working in sales and retail for many years, I can tell you it's not that uncommon. I'm not so sure it's a matter of being a "bitch" or "a$$hole" as much as something much different, like sociopathy. A sort of sense of entitlement gone awry to the point that life is a scorched-earth policy of "get what I can, for as little as possible, the rest of the human race be damned." That's why, liberal that I am, gave up on the whole "peace and love" thing a long time ago. Not to get too philosophical, but this is a story that goes to the heart of what this site is about, and how good people are turned to hardened cynics in a very short time.
Being pregnant doesn't mean that you are entitled to special favours, and it sounded like she thought that getting the woman fired was worth it to get what she wanted. What a bitch. Sadly though she will be far from the only one to be so entitlement minded that they will be willing to get what they want at any cost.
You know, I can't help but think that everybody's reading the OP's boss' statement wrong.
It's not that she's happy that she got the sales clerk fired. To her, that's only a sidebar to the main story and is only mentioned to flesh the telling out.
No, the part that she's all proud of is that she got a massive discount, and nobody else will ever get that big a discount on anything at that store.
Actually, she probably ruined everybody's ability to get any type of discount at that location, which makes her a bitch for totally different reasons. And she was sucky for bullying the clerk into dropping the price below cost and doubly sucky for not showing any empathy for the fact that the clerk was fired for going along with it.
Of course, it's possible that she is delighted over the fact that she was responsible for the clerk getting canned, in which case I'd try to never be perceived as a retail peon in her presence, because she obviously doesn't think those people are worth any sort of respect or common courtesey.
But that clerk wasn't long for the retail world, anyway. Anyone who would let someone push them to discounting an item below cost doesn't really understand how retail works.
