So there's a really big storm going on. I had one lesson scheduled for today, but had e-mailed and called the student's mom to cancel 4 days ago. I let her know that we're always the last neighborhood in my county to be shoveled, and I didn't feel comfortable keeping the lesson if there was gonna be a blizzard. I finally head back from her an hour ago. She was angry that I had missed the lesson and wanted to know where I was. This is one of two students whose house I drive to. They pay an extra $5 for travel expenses and it's not too far, so I really don't mind. I asked if she had looked outside yet. She's by water and city, so it's not as bad there. Right now I'd say the snow is well over 2 feet nearing 3. Of course our neighborhood hasn't been plowed yet, and it's still snowing out so I don't expect any trucks to come by until tomorrow.
We're also powerless, but we have a generator meaning tomorrow for the Superbowl we'll have lots of friends. No one's been able to get out to the main road yet, so we don't know if trucks have even been in our area yet. I don't expect to have power until Monday or Tuesday, but it's supposed to snow again then.
When I find my cell phone I'll post a pic of my car...or my new igloo as it may be. I basically own a snowball with a side view mirror. I hope my phone's not in my car.
