    Damn -

It's bad enough we got 2 standees that are at least 7-8 feet tall. And the posters. And the huge signs to hang from the ceiling. And the window clings, cards, lenticular sheets, and toppers for our DVD feature wall. Why must SC's repeatedly ask when the DVD is coming out when the signage clearly states its release on April 22nd ? Oy.

April 22nd is when you were supposed to put out the cardboard cutouts. That's why the cutouts have the date April 22nd on them. The DVDs will have their own date on them. That's why the customers don't know when they're coming out, because there's no sign for them.

In defense of the customers, new music and DVD's ALWAYS come out on Tuesdays. I myself sauntered into my local Target at lunch expecting to pick up some sci-fi goodness, and it took me a moment to realize I was 2 days early.

I guess Avatar is a big enough deal that it gets its very own personalized DVD release date.

Every day I walk by the movie store at work and see the cardboard cutout display of *GASP* Jake Sully lookin' hot in blue and ask the employees who I have to fight to the death to get it! (Usually it goes to whatever employee wants it).

I might have to bump-off a few employees on the 22nd...

What can I say? I have a thing for guys with tails!

          Why wait?

I'm betting it's already out on Usenet.

(No, not by me, and no, I didn't download it either.)

Disclaimer: Please note that this post is not intended to either advocate nor facilitate copyright violation; merely making an observation that a previous poster's speculation was correct. Besides which, even at DSL speeds, nearly 8 gig would take longer to download than it would to just go and rent the damn thing if I wanted to see it, which I haven't yet decided.

I must be in the very small minority of people who have not seen it at the cinema and have no desire to buy it on DVD. The story just doesnt interest me that much.

But then, I never saw Titanic either....

There was actually an open box sitting in electronics yesterday, full of Avatar DVDs. I had a fleeting temptation to hold one up and draw attention to it just to see how many fanbois exist in my town, but my job isn't worth that

I found the movie entertaining, but I don't get all the fan-jizzing over it.

I loved everything. Though, I am very easily impressed. I watched it for what it was, not for what it was like. That's why I loved it so much.

The story isn't bad, just nothing new or surprising. The pacing is amazing, however. And the effects and world are gorgeous, of course.

I won't go near Titanic, so I also haven't seen it.

As a story, meh, as a movie I enjoyed it.
Although, watching it in 3d, when the plants start lighting up, I leant to my friend and asked ... .

I hear ya. Our ads go from Wednesday to Tuesday night, so tomorrow, people will be getting an ad in the mail. Problem is there's a typo on there saying it came out Tuesday the 20th. Every single other ad for the last few weeks have advertised it right, for the 22nd. This is the only one that has it wrong. Guess which one EVERY customer is going to go by tomorrow? At least it's only one day that we'll have to listen to the whining but still....
                          Think. It's not illegal yet.

Yeah I have to set up the display later tonight. I doubt we'll have that many people coming there to buy it seeing how I would assume everyone will go to Wal Mart not Kroger. Still I have to make sure we abosolutely do NOT sell a single DVD before 12:01am. We could get fined $2,000 if we did. So how many of you think there will be SCs trying to convince me to let them buy it anyway since I have them right there, what's the big deal?
