yep. i prefer the eye part (back , canadian or short cut) of the bacon. I'm a bit picky about pork fat too.

Big chains like that usually can afford to be more generous with giving away stuff to placate customers. I'm not under the impression the pub in question is part of some huge chain like an Outback Steakhouse. Also at those places, some regional manager or something will go out of their way to placate a whiny customer so they don't have to deal with them or have a black mark on the store's customer service record. Yes, it's dumb, but that's a corporate environment for you.

On the subject of bacon and fat....

One of the things that makes a fine piece of meat, including bacon, is typically something known as "marbling", which put simply is fat that is layered in the meat. It is a matter of a balance between the meat and the fat, with too much fat rendering a piece "faty", and too little can cause it to be "tough" or "dry". In bacon, the marbling is very easy to see, with the stripes of red and white. While it is possible to have a piece of bacon with too much fat, removing all the fat would give you something more akin to jerky, in my opinion.

More to the point, this woman is ether entirely too picky, spoiled, and/or looking for reasons to complain, whether it is for personal enjoyment or as part of a scam.

I say you start charging her for every single piece of food that leaves the kitchen because of her order of dissatisfaction.
