I kinda hope the idiot comes back. Then you can clearly and loudly explain (in front of coworkers and patrons) specifically why he is banned.
    Heh, great minds think alike!

Once I was able to reboot my brain, (fortunately) after reading crml's OP, I was going to post here that I hoped the manager did ban this moron's ass, and LOUDLY explain why he was doing so, and continuing do do so outside of the bar.

        Poor kid!

Some parents need... well, I can't say what I think he needs... don't think the site rules allow it!
This would be a good start.

The guy was probably wasted, which would give CPS and other authorities more to nail the idiot with.
This does not surprise me in the least regarding so called 'parents' and their behavior. Their entitlement mentality knows no bounds, their belief in no consequences whatsover for any stupid stunts on their part (in this case it is by proxy), coupled with some variety of god-complex.
Somewhere there is some moo who thought this was the best baby daddy in the world.
And CPS? yes, they might remove the child. However, they are all too quick to hand it back to 'family', which may be just as crazy/whacked out/depraved/stupid (off of the above) as this clown.
        Glad nothing happened.
People are getting more ballsy all the time. Some even laugh at you when you call them out on their shit.

I fear for this kid's safety. In situations like this, threatening to call CPS on them might shut them down quick.

Yup, he was fishing for a lawsuit. Could he have been any more obvious about it? Gah. People who use their children like this make me sick.
It's disgusting how some people love money more than they love their precious children.

It also sucks in this world to be the ONLY parent who is preventing thier kid from doing something (rude, selfish, annoying, etc.), while the rest of the clueless bastards let their kids run wild.

I had to laugh the other day because I read an article about this next generation coming into the work force and they just couldn't UNDERSTAND WHY they weren't being offered a six figure salary and the corner office right out of college. The HR people were flabergasted at what these spoiled little brats were demanding for an entry level position.

Glad the manager kicked out Daddy Dearest from the pub...seriously was the guy dropped on his head as a child or is he just plain stupid?!!
Been dropped on his head and kept bouncing for a while, as my grandmother would have said.

I agree that this was really an incredibly stupid and dangerous thing for these parents to do. Poor kid.

twocents is right; the cps would give her back to this idiot quickly, where a parent with no record of abuse/negligence would lose their child indefinitely over a minor incident.
All the more reason to call CPS. The next time something like this happened, CPS would have a record of abuse/neglect.

CRML, I'm sorry you had to deal with someone so stupid. Stupid doesn't begin to describe that waste of skin. I totally feel sorry for that kid, because of that idiot, she could be in for a rough life. Poor kid.

Years ago, former mod Ace of Diamonds posted a story about someone's 5-year-old wandered into the back room of the jewelry store where he was working at the time. I think the thread title was something like "Hey jackass! Do you love your kid or not?"

He politely escorted the kid back to his mother, who was furious that he didn't just like him hang out there, telling him "He's just curious! He wouldn't touch anything!" Ace pointed out that there were dangerous chemicals back there for cleaning jewelry, including some that contained cyanide, and if the kid had ingest that, he would have "been dead before he hit the floor."

When he finally finished chewing out the idiot mother and returned to the back room, he noticed that several of his tools had been moved. So much for not touching anything.

Whatever department of family services equivalent that your country has.. they need to step in and take his son away. He doesn't deserve a father that's willing to put his own son's life in jeopardy like that.

On top of that, serve him an ASBO preventing him from entering a bar, restaurant or any other place that serves food or drink for at least a year.

Or better yet! Put him to work in a restaurant for a year working minimum wage!!!

You're not the only one. I'm trying to raise my kid right, too. You should see the shocked expressions of waitstaff and customer service people when my son says "please" and "thank you" to them. Kind of sad, that polite kids people are the rare exception and not the rule.

I swear, it's a sick world when nearly every family you meet needs Supernanny's help. That man intentionally put, or at least allowed, his child to be in harm's way?
