  • I Waited in Line For Thirty Minutes

Yesterday, I was checking out a customer and her husband and the customer told me that she'd been waiting in line for thirty minutes. I offered to get a manager for her but she declined. Personally, I don't think she and her husband waited for thirty minutes since the line wasn't that long. I think they waited about five minutes.

I told the service desk employee about this lady when I had the chance. Like me, he believed that this lady was exaggerating about waiting in line for thirty minutes.

    BUT BUT BUT ...........

Every minute "I" wait in line is really 10 minutes, you see, because "I'm" IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ugggghh customers exaggerate when they're complaining sometimes...drives me crazy.
Sorry, my love cannot be bought. And if it could, you obviously don't have enough in your account to do so.

I liked the one where the customer crabbed about waiting "twenty minutes and no one would help me!" I was like "How did you get in?" The store had opened exactly five minutes earlier.

They'd have fun pulling this one with me.

          There are three reasons why:

          1) It takes me between 2-5 minutes to serve a customer with an average size trolley.
          2) If I have a customer with a larger load (i.e. $300+ worth) I'll do it as quick as I can, but in some cases it'll take up to 15 minutes.
          3) We always have backup.

            SC's are such drama queens!

We have a timer on our phone that tells us exactly how long they've been on hold. I love it when I answer the call and they cry that they've been waiting 40 minutes, and I look at the timer and it's been 7 minutes.

Ah yes, the EW event horizon. Since they are so important..every minute of 'your less important time' is equal to x number of minutes where as their self importance increases so does X.

I've had some EW's complain to me about being on hold for an hour to an hour and x minutes to speak to somebody in my department or worse..for somebody else in a different and separate department from mine.

Well, what the heck did she want? What was the point in even telling you if she didn't want anything out of it? Am I missing something here?

I was led to believe that SC time operated in a completely different location from the CSR. i.e. time flows differently in the SC's home than in the CSR's workplace. Now you're telling me that there are pockets inside the same building where time flows differently?

She did get something out of it. It's called "the inherent satisfaction of whining".
You usually see it in toddlers. All they need is a "there there" and they know their complaint has been heard and they go on their merry way.

Haha, I wonder what would happen if an employee actually did that to a customer.

True, but it's weird complaining at a store just for the sake of complaining. They might as well complain that the store is too big or too small. But you know, it can't be stopped.
