  • "But I Can't afford it'

Today my CSM made me laugh soooo hard I almost peed my pants.

I was doin customer service desk. This guy comes in with this baby outfit that is covered in stains and puke.

ME-Sir I cant take this back
SC-oh come on is doesnt fit my baby right and we have been driving for hrs. Its too small I just want another one.

me-sir I cant take it back like that. if you washed it first...maybe.

at this time my CSM hears this and she comes over and looks at it and say no right away.

SC-what am i to do i need a new outfit
CSM-We sell them in the store. Just buy a new one.(this outfit is $3.50)
SC-BUt i want to exchange this one.
CSM-I wouldnt of even of bought that in the store. i would of been embarressed.
SC-Goin off on her I cant make it out. I did hear him say how he can't afford a new outfit.

CSM-Up the street is a used cothing store....they have outfits for as less as fifty cents.

SC must of went out and called mngr b/c they made us take this back.

to be a bitch when he brought it in i put on gloves and a mask.

My mngr trying not to laugh told my CSM how we dont tell customers to go to a used clothing store and we dont call them embarressing.

Most CSM's have a spine, but sadly once it goes higher the greater chance the manager is a jellyfish in disguise. There are exceptions, but exceptions just prove the rule .

Ok, customer tells you they can't operate some piece of technology.... don't tell them they should be embarrassed. Someone brings in disgusting worn clothing covered in puke and wants to return it, they should be embarrassed for bringing that in. Hell if it wasn't for the puke I could see them attempting a return, Actually they shouldn't be embarrassed, they should be clubbed.

Bravo for the manager.... encouraging sucky behavior... because I'm sorry if your so broke you can't spend $3.50, you SHOULD go to the place where you can buy stuff cheap. And if they were so broke HOW IN THE HELL ARE THE AFFORDING GAS, considering where I am at is 3.67 a gallon and they have been driving for HOURS, at lets say 35mph, you have used 1 gallon if the car is effeicent, maybe 2 gallons if your on the highway doing 70mpH. Cut your trip short, and but your kid a nice clean outfit..... OR maybe pack extras?????
I'm sorry reading is not a new concept it has been widely taught in our nation for at least the past 100 years. Please, learn to do it CORRECTLY before you become contagious.

What chafes my underoos is that the same managers who are so happy to give profits away to scammers like this are the same ones who say there can be no raises because profits are not high enough.

when I first read that, I thought it said a guy came in wearing a baby outfit....and I was thinking boy this is going to be good....

Alas...Not so good...but what an ass...both the guy and the higher up manager. People like that cost people like us more money.

OK, not a parent. How fast do the little tykes grow? Or another way to phrase that question, how long before the SC comes back with another puke stained outfit that, what do you know, is too small?

This genius has found a baby clothes library. Brilliant!

If the baby is under two years, a few months. For the same reason, it's easy to find almost unused baby clothes cheap at goodwill stores, or free from friends or relations with slightly older children.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say the CSM's comments are probably why the stained outfit was taken back.

It's okay to think a person should be embarrassed to try to return such an outfit, and that they should shop at the thrift store if they can't afford your merchandise, but not okay to say those things to the customer's face.

Had the CSM just kept saying no and not made those comments, there truly would've been no reason to take back the outfit other than spinelessness.

                    Agreed with Irv.

You can be as nasty as you want in your own mind, or privately and discreetly with coworkers, but not to someone's face. That's just not professional.

Yes behind the customers back--especially when that's the fact of the matter.
