Cheerleading is developing into a competitive sport.

In short, they've moved from hangers on to actual jocks.

Still, not all cheerleaders (or jocks) are assholes.

So cheerleaders are no longer just athletic supporters? As for the stereotype, a few bad-apple cheerleaders (and jocks) are giving the other 2% a bad name.
