  • Ewww! Ever hear of a wallet??

Isn't the wallet an amazing invention? It's a nice, clean, convenient place to store your cash, all safe and snug, until you need it. And it's so small and light you can carry it anywhere! I think most people would agree that it's a much better place to store your money than, say, a sock.

Yesterday after I totaled up a woman's purchases, she pulled off her shoe and sock, pulled a crinkled wad of money out of the sock, and dropped it on the counter; apparently even she was too grossed out to touch it. Well, I took that damp, stinky money, and after she left, washed my hands.

And that's not even the worst place the money could come from. I've heard of customers pulling money out of their bras or even their underwear like some cheap magic act From now on I'm keeping wet-naps behind the counter.

      bleh. pockets, purses, wallets.

whatever you do... NOT the bra, the panties or the socks. if your money is wet from where you store it, you have issues.

Make it obvious: have a can of Lysol nearby. When said money is handed to you, take it with your fingertips, the very tips I might add, hold it up, and hold that spray nozzle down for a good 5 seconds. After that, advise the customer that they need to have the money brought out of a wallet or purse next time or they won't get to buy anything. If management holds that statement to you, kindly have THEM handle the money. Call them upfront and remind them that they said they would handle it since you won't.

Only the other day, I turned from my screen to give a customer his total, to see him stood there with his debit card in his mouth... and of course he didn't put the card into the reader himself, oh no, he took it out of his mouth and tossed it onto the counter for me to do it... ewww......
Thank heavens for the little bottles of hand sanitizer on each till. Next time someone tries that I'm going to tell them that we aren't supposed to touch the customers' cards at all (which is true, but of course we do otherwise we'd be there all day with some of them....)

I refused to take money that was covered in blood once. My FES tried to get me in trouble, but I just brought up the bio hazard factor.

Why would anyone put anything as germ-filled like money next to their bare genitals?

Ugh...our money down here is made of polymer, but it still can carry odours!

I once had some money that smelt HORRIBLE....I didn't know what caused it to smell so bad, but the second the customers back was turned, I shoved it into my pickup capsule and sent it in my next safe drop

Me, I'm wondering if we aren't too far away from the day where money becomes a conduit for STDs.

I got the piss soaked (guy denied it was piss soaked...but you can't exactly fake the odor or the wetness), blood soaked, sweat soaked, dirty and just generally disgusting money in my time at Aid of Rite.

I also had a guy use his baby son's sock as his wallet. When I asked him why, his wife said that his wallet had fallen apart and he asked for a new one for Christmas. The 3 of us found it funny. At least the sock was clean!

Ok, I design pockets for the corsets I make because a lot of people won't have a place for money/id when wearing them otherwise.

                              Socks and underwear, though? eeeeeewww
