  • Caught Dumping Trash On Our Property!

I got a call that a Gentleman wanted to talk to security. When I talked to him, he explained that he'd pulled into the lot and saw another guy in his car shoving trash out onto the ground. The Gentleman snapped a photo on his cell phone, which the dumper saw, so he ducked his head, jumped back into his car and drove to another spot. The Gentleman followed him and took his plate number. I went with the Gentleman to find the dumper and give him the chance to clean-up his trash or I'd call the police. He'd taken-off, so I ended-up picking-up enough garbage to half fill a trash bag! We called the police, gave the vehicle information, the Gentleman's information and as good a description as he had of the dumper. When they track down the dumper he's getting charged with illegal dumping It was REALLY nice of the Gentleman to come and get us; he said seeing this really bothered him because the dumper obviously had no respect for our mall.

i learned recently that mall security really likes good details on stuff like that. (like when i reported the guy begging for gas cos i'd seen him doing it before)

Sheesh, if you're going to dump trash, at least do it in the publicly available trash bins. But be reasonable about it. Don't overload the bin with your garbage.

This goes double to that snotty teenager I saw dumping his old textbooks in our trash bins at the wholesale club.

We once had someone fill one of our work bins with all their Xmas waste:

Food, paper, cardboard packaging for the huge painting they had delivered - still with there address on it. Needless to say, they were told to take back their crap or we'd bill them for disposal.

Nice that someone cared. I just don't get people like the dumper...you're going home eventually, throw your garbage out in your own trash! How hard is that??

I would've liked to see that dumper caught in the act by the police. What EXCUSE would he have given them to avoid getting a huge fine? Ha ha!

Some areas you have to arrange your own service [like we do here at home.] If you are cheap, you try to dump your stuff everywhere else.

Hm, I think I pay something around $180 a year for my hauler to deal with my trash, and once a year or so we rent a C&D 10 yard to deal with spring yard waste and accumulated odds and ends that nobody wants via freecycle.

The other night my mom and I were going to a restaurant and we watched some douche throw a Big Gulp sized container. I should have taken his picture but he looked like the kind of person that would want to shove the camera up in an uncomfortable place.

I hate this with a passion. We have trash cans outside our entrance. These are for the customer who wants to throw out their drink before they go inside, or their bag when they're coming out of the store, you get the idea - they are not large.

Last Saturday, we had an RV pull up. The people came inside and bought stuff, so I give them a LITTLE credit. But dang!!! They emptied what appeared to be their entire trip's worth of garbage in our outside trash cans. When I went out to empty it, I found at least a month's worth of fast food containers, diapers and other unmentionables, even ground beef containers from the grocery store.

I realize you're traveling the country, but couldn't you find a dumpsite/recycling center? The one for this county is a mere 2.5 miles away from our store!

My family owns a business, so when finances got tight my parents discontinued the trash services to their home and would just take their trash with them to work and use the dumpster there. The distinction here is my family own the shop and pays for the trash services there. They wouldn't think of dumping their garbage in someone else's dumpster.

One time this car pulled out of a corner store right in front of me, almost having me hit them. They drive about 5 blocks to an apt. complex and the passanger just throws out of his window a bag from a fast food restaurant. Couldn't he have waited until he got home, if he didn't dispose of it at the corner store?

Another winner was waiting for the bus. He was about 2 feet from a garbage can. The bus stopped and he just dropped his bag of waste from Subway - it wasn't an accident, like when you juggle with stuff and something falls out of your hands. This was definately on purpose. He couldn't have walked to the garbage can while waiting?

This is definitely one of my pet peeves! My mother would have had a fit if we kids had thrown our trash out the window. We either took it home or found a trash can. Same way with my kids. They knew better.
