We had the opposite at the tax office, specifically some identity thief wannabees.
I say wanabees because we shred all the customer-specific garbage. The only material that would have intact SSN's would be practice scenarios which use bogus numbers. Nevertheless, the local police put a stop to that nonsense.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

Three years ago when we moved into our apartment, we would have people come off the main road we're on, dump their garbage in our dumpsters and drive off. I can only assume they were caught because it stopped very soon after.

Now, at my work, it happens all the time to our trash bins outside on our front sidewalk. I open on Sundays and its not uncommon to see someone drive up and throw a couple bags in our bins. Not sure if it happens to our dumpsters out back.

We once went on a guided tour holiday (from the U.K. to Europe). The trip itself was one of those luxury coaches, which left from Dover. So the company had a shuttle type bus that picked up people all over the country, and took them to Dover for the actual trip. Then reverse after the trip itself.

Our shuttle bus driver was a real a** in more ways than one, but relevant to this thread, he really made me angry when on the return he stopped for everyone to get a quick bite at a fast food place (even though this was a "shuttle", if you lived at the farther areas from Dover, it was quite a long time on the bus). He tried to bully anyone who came back onto the bus with any food, making comments right and left about having to clean up after people, etc. I just gave him an icy stare and said "I'm perfectly capable of taking my trash with me when I leave" and ignored him (it wasn't as if there were an actual rule, he made it perfectly clear he just didn't want to have to do his required clean up when returning with the bus, he'd been a jerk about several things already on that line). Anyway, after literally harrassing anyone who dared to bring a soda up or snack onto his bus, he took all of his own fast food debris, opened the door to the bus, tossed them under the bus onto the car park, and proceeded to drive off!

And yes, I did write a letter of complaint to the company about his behavior, on this and other things, but never did get a reply.

        Madness takes it's toll....

at one military command that occupied 2 buildings ... i once saw signs by the trash & recycling cans stating that you cannot dump your trash from home there.
the thing is in the military they don't usually put up signs like that unless they have to.

The real kick to the teeth was that this was in the "other building" which was staffed mostly by higher ranked officers, and higher level civilian employees. Our building - staffed mostly by enlisted and lower-ranked civilians & blue-collar workers... never had this problem.

simple explanation- the higher ranked personnel ( miltiary or civilian)feel more entitled, so feel the rule is for everyone else. Obviously, not everyone feels that way, but...

I think I might have posted about this before... last year we had a series of incidents where someone was dumping trash bags full of old donuts at the local park/creek.

They finally staked the park out and caught a guy who worked at a local Dunkin Donuts. And it wasn't just donuts he was throwing out... they found used hair nets, coffee grounds, rubber gloves and other trash mixed in.

Not to mention that the sugary food isn't healthy for the local animals.

I don't remember if they pinned it on the owner/manager of the Dunkin Donuts or what happened to the guy dumping, but at least they caught the guy and put a stop to it.

We have a few of those, even in our production system. I think we have "Donald Duck" in there as 123-45-6789.
