  • People will DIE!!!!!!!

So, I get a call the other day that goes something like this.....

    ME: Opening speil

CUST: ARE YOU PEOPLE TRYING TO KILL PEOPLE!?? PEOPLE WILL DIE!!!!

ME: um, what is going on?

CUST: You people are trying to kill people!

ME: What med are we talking about and what is wrong with it?

CUST:It does not matter what the med IS, it matters that it will kill people!!!!

ME: I need to know what one you are talking about so I can look into the issue (um DUH! )

CUST: It is *N* and you are going to *&%^%$^% kill people! I take these only in an emergency! Five will kill someone and you are sending out 300! People will die!

ME: *looks up med and sees that it is often prescribed as a daily med, and is even sold in a package of 100* Mam, this medicine is often given as a daily dose and is even packaged by the 100.

CUST: People will die! How can I keep something like that secure in my home?

ME: *wondering who in the heck she allows in her home* Mam, if there is an error, I would be more than happy to get a pharmacist on the line to discuss this issue.

CUST: you better! You are going to kill dozens of people!!

As you can imagine, it went on like this with the pharmacist. Pharmacist is a little more willing than I to state the painfully obvious.... like "who is in your home that would 1- know what it was 2-steal it and 3- use it to murder dozens of people?

In the long run, we issued a return tag for her to mail it back...but that would take a week or so to arrive. She was then pissed that she would HAVE to spend money she didn't have to buy a safe to lock these oh so deadly meds in!

What the hell is she on, and why isn't she taking it???? Oy.

Dude, want a beer? Sounds like you could use one. My brain is going 'WTF?' I can only imagine how yours feels right now.

It is a fairly common medication. Thing is, we ALL (most likely) have meds in our house that will kill if you OD on them.

I just wonder who in the hell she has in her house that would use the med in question to go on a killing spree?

Someone should tell her to lock up most of her over the counter meds, her drain de-cloggers, bleach & many cleaners, anti-freeze for her car, and so forth and so on, cause the average home is filled with poisons. And think of all the knives in the kitchen, and sewing sheers, and scissors, and.......

And don't forget to put the croquet mallets under lock and key.

        Madness takes it's toll....

Aspirin can kill you if you overdose on it.

Which is my polite pharmaceutical way of telling this woman to shut the fuck up.

I keep enough colchicine in a med bottle on my keyring to kill someone if dosed all at once. Meh. I have cardiac meds I take that if someone horked down part of the bottle it could kill them. I just keep the bottles locked away from the goddaughters or random idiots and call it good.

[heck, someone could grab my insulin and do something nasty to someone, fwiw.]

Maybe I should start locking up the cabinet under the sink, that's got things in it that could kill people. I think most people have these sorts of things in their homes anyways, but they take percautions to KEEP it from harming anyone. >.<
Eh, one day I'll have something useful here. Until then, have a cookie or two.

She has worse problems than deadly medications. I bet her house is just full of dihydrogen monoxide...

Not only that, but oxygen. Every human who has ever breathed in air with even trace amounts of oxygen has DIED.

I'd love to go through her house and garden analysing it for deadly or toxic substances.

If this woman is so concerned about potential causes of death, she really should look into what is unquestionably the #1 cause of death throughout human history, racking up a staggering 100% mortality rate: birth.
