It's super inconvenient, yeah, but shit happens. I went to a Subway one day where they'd run out of bread. Before the lunch rush, even. So yeah, shit really does happen. Ermagerd. So horrible.
Once again, it's that lack of ESP that retail workers are supposed to have, according to customers expectations.

Pre-cooking & ordering are based on average number of customers ording that item on this day of the week at this time of year. But somehow, managers were supposed to be able to see in their official crystal balls (issued by corporate but of course paid for by wage with-holdings) that today, there would be twice the normal customers due to a tour bus on their way to view the world's largest ball of twine breaking down in front right at lunchtime, or the restaurant on the other side of town having a crazed clown set the place on fire so all their customers came to you, or all town traffic being routed past your restaurant cause escaped elephants from the zoo knocked trees down blocking all other routes through town.

    Madness takes it's toll....
    Please have exact change ready.

I want a soda made entirely of syrup.
      I think that dissolves teeth.

Some guy asked me why there's no soda. Why does it matter the reason? It doesn't change the situation.

Idaho recalled it all back to the Springs.

It might affect the wait for more soda.

Ya know, there was a small family place I used to work at where the buttons on the soda gun were a bit worn...If you pressed them juuuust right, you could get 90% syrup/10% water out of those puppies. Came in really handy for long days when I needed a sugar buzz bit of a pick-me-up. They're long gone now, tho, sadly.

I wasn't going to bring it up, but now that you mention it, I wondered if maybe the SC's thought the products could just be pulled out of that certain "opening" on demand.
That's a common misconception arising from a typographical error. A few of Arby's premium sandwiches are made from Angus beef.
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.

Seeing your posts we probably work for the same company in the same section. I once answered the guy and said no CO2. He said, what? I said, "the sodas are flat" he YELLED "WHAT!!!!!! I JUST WANT A SODA! WHY IS THAT SO HARD FOR YOU!!!" I said, "Soda no go bubbly, did i dumb it down enough for you?"

This is one of the drawbacks of having fast food joints like McDonald's where most of the menu can be heated up in the microwave for 30 seconds.

Instant gratification rules the day. People would prefer to have it now, so better products that may take longer from time to time piss them off when it's not sitting on a shelf waiting for their royal highnesses to pick it up.

                        i did that once. kinda.

back in "A" school the soda machines were odd in that... if you pushed the lever back only a little you'd get pure syrup. so i started getting stronger sodas that way, and then top them off with a little bit of normal soda
