Oddly enough, there's a package that will be shipped out from Key West to Victory's location on Wednesday. It would have been sooner, but I am the Patron Saint of Procrastination. It has no cows with spots, but there are cities of cigars in it...

Door County Brewing Company Hey Hey What You Say Polka King Porter. Damn, that's a mouthful.

Nice dark brown color to it, with little head. There isn't much nose to it.

Taste : nice chocolat hints to it. There is a slight hop bite to it, but the chocolate malts tone it down. Not a bad porter at all, and I'll give it a 6 out of 10.

I will also say something about the label. I really like it. It has a lot of character with the tractor on it and all the funny, but true statements on it. An example "Good beer will make you want to dance" and "You sir & you ma'am! Thank you for your kind attention" and, of course the tripple "Omm-Pah-Pah" on it also. I'd say they have one hell of a sense kf humor at that brewery.

The second, and final review was a really hard choice to make. I finally setteled on the

Magic Hat Jinx Scotch Ale.

I love Scotch Ales, so I hope it's good.

Light brown in color, a lot lighter than other Scotch Ales I've had. Little head when poured. I really get no nose off of it.

Taste : this is the funkiest Scotch Ale I've had. Did they put the apricot in it? It is a bizarre beer for sure. I think I like it, but it's very strange. I'm confused by this beer. I will give it a 5 out of 10, because I don't know what to think about it.

Traquair House Ale

Nice thick head to it, and a very dark brown color, almost black. There is a bit of a nose to it, but it's hard to describe.

Taste : really smooth going down. Not the strongest flavor in the world, but it is pretty good. I think fermenting in oak barrels adds a nice flavor to the beer. Not a bad Scotch Ale at all. 6.5 out of 10. Yes, I would buy it again.

I'm going to Chicago on Thursday, and we're planning to make a liquor stop in the Madison area. I'm really hoping that the New Glarus Black Top IPA is in the stores by then. I've never had it, and it sounds amazing. I'm also hoping to get some Moon Man as well.

I'm going to be exposing some people from Virginia to awesome upper midwest beers in Chicago. Can't wait till this vacation.

Unlikely it will be that soon. Why? Because even if your package of deliciousness arrives Monday, I am almost certainly going to simply take it home and shove it aside for at least a week. Not because I don't appreciate what you've done. Not because I won't like the beers. But because, my friend, this coming week is Fantasy Fest, which means I'll be working a lot, and when I'm not working, I'll be out and about in Key West, costumed up and drinking myself silly. Basically the biggest event on the calendar in this town. Which means I will be doing no drinking at home.

Now the following week, when the Parrot Heads are in town? Very good chance I'll be home a lot at night after work, and staying home on days I'm not working.

That sounds like a blast. I'll, probably, will only be able to try one before my trip to Chicago. Reviews will have to wait.

Yes, but there will be reviews on vacation. I found a bar that serves craft beers close to the hotel, and another that brews their own. All this plus the stuff I pick up on the way in Wisconsin, yeah, lots of reviews.

Boulder Blood Orange IPA

Since it's in my stein, I do not have any color. It has a nice, frothy head. I get a nice citrus, well orange, nose from Iit

Taste: very orange tasting, then you get the bite of the hops second. It is a very good combination. if you're not big into IPAs you might not like it. 6.5 out of 10.
