  • Getting hit on.

Not sucky, but happened at work anyway.

Was just getting done with cleaning the new "Tyler Perry" film that came out today. Forgot the name, "Meet the browns" or something like that.

So, as I'm heading down the hallway i notice that there are three people sitting in the theatre. Two girls that are near my age, with an older woman sitting with them. Our exchange goes like this.

BG: Black girl (this is important for later explanation)
    Me

BG: Hey, you got a girlfriend?
Me: (insert small laugh) I wish.
BG: Can I have your phone number?

Now, I don't get hit on by many girls near my age. But when I do, it's kinda flattering. But it caught me off guard, so my initial response was a mix between "no thanks" and mumbled gibberish as I walked out of the theatre.

Now, I'm a very open minded, white, 19 year/pushing 20 guy. The girl was cute and all, but just not what I'm into as far as women. Still very flattering that she asked, but my interests lean more towards an Asian persuasion (no rhyming pun intended).

The people I work with say I shouldn't be so picky when it comes to woman. But *insert shrug* what are you gonna do?

Sorry if this doesn't seem like too much of a story. But we've all been hit on at work one time or another. This is just one of the non-sucky occurances.
Screw normal. You know why? 'Cause if you're normal, the crowd will accept you. But if you're deranged, the crowd will make you their leader.

I don't see why this was important.

If you read the post carefully, you will see the OP prefers women of Asian descent.
Hence the marking of the race of the girl.
However, if you feel it was uncalled for, there is a REPORT BUTTON you can use to alert the mods. Don't call the OP out in a post, just report it if you don't agree with it.

I get hit on quite alot actually.

I remeber once, I was working days at Office Max. This one female customer was flirting with me non stop. Well while I was helping her look at a computer. The managers had me go to help out with another dept. Sorry to say, you could tell that she didn't like it. And she left.

My old manager (married, early 30s) who was reasonably stocky and average seemed to get hit on very heavily by several single women for some reason. They were disappointed when he started chatting about his wife been expecting.
My current manager is a bit of a sex addict, so he doesn't mind hitting back on customers who seem interested.. on the other hand, one of my part time co-workers is a nice young girl (17), and well shes probably a 7 or 8/10 on the looks scale.. needless to say most male customers have themselves a damn good look and a subtle flirt.. she pushes the sales well.

One of the benefits (for me) of having had my kids young, is seeing my teenage boys get really annoyed when guys occasionally check me out.

There is an Indian buffet that me and my older son go to on occasion, and he's just exasperated when we leave because he doesn't understand 'why those dude's LIKE me' so much. I told him I wished I got hit on everywhere like I do at the Indian buffet, because it doesn't happen NEARLY as often anywhere else.

Yeah, he was somewhat less than amused by that.

Then there's the people that give me and my older son looks like we're a couple. I'm 38 and look my age or maybe a little younger and he is 20, but looks about 5 years older because he's big and has a beard. Thing is, we look EXACTLY alike, so I wonder just what they're thinking as they stare.

What can I say? Teenage boys and their mommy's are a STRANGE thing.

I've been hit, but I've never been hit on, at least not by workmates, one old lady tried to hook me up with her granddaugter when I worked at a mobility centre.

I don't get hit on now ever really, considering I have an extremley bad back so it's rare for me to even leave the house most of the time.

The last time someone hit on me at work I remember getting very embarrassed about it, mainly because he was doing it in front of his wife!

I can't recall ever getting hit on by a customer, which is an annoyance of mine Although it is probably due to my personality, not being terribly outgoing or friendly. It's baffling because I get hit on ALL the time anywhere else I go (had to add that in there to make myself feel better).

I would have been thrown off myself if a customer just asked for my number like that, and probably would have just mumbled some gibberish and wandered off, too. I wouldn't just give my number out to someone I don't know, anyway.

When I was a bartender, I got hit on constantly. Almost equally among the great-grandmas, less than 18 year olds, and the psychos. The worst I ever got was when I was a service tech for a retail electronics store. One the cashiers was constantly htiting on me to the point of stalker levels and her friends were making it worse by treating me like I had a one night stand with her when I never did anything with her. Made things VERY uncomfortable.

For some reason us software types just don't get hit on at work.

I had the same thing happen, except that it was my bosses wife hitting on me. There was a bar downstairs from the office and they came up to use the restroom after closing (I'm guessing..) He was in the head and she came on to me.

I can only assume it was because she was completely sh*t-faced drunk.
