Hi my name is Emrld and my day is always better after reading threads started by GK.
(Please make sure and let us know when you write your first book so we can save our pennies to buy the first edition at the book store)

The green Ranger was also on a TV series on MTV . . . I don't remember the name of the show . . .but it was like a modernized/ Hugh Hefnerized version of Love American Style . . .(now that is an age placing reference)
In other words flip flop around a whole bunch of short stories of hook ups.
It was great eye candy - able to be shown with his shirt off . . .as it was for a more mature audience.

I did an IMDB search on Tommy . . .and well he was in something in 2004 . . and supposedly their is a movie coming out end of Oct with hime in it . . http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1099971/

Well My daughter watches Powers Rangers Mystic Force. I dont know if thats the newest one or not but I stopped watching when Keith stole the black lion.....Er wait that was Voltron. Oh well you know how all those 5 guys in color coded suits shows blur after time......

Voltron was, is and always will be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than the Power Rangers. Well, the original cartoon. None of that "second generation" crap.

That would be because the American Power Rangers show borrowed clips of the suited characters from the show Super Sentai Rangers from Japan, and in that show, Trini was male. Thus, no skirt. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Actually, I knew that, and my bubble is far from burst. But thanks for playing anyway.

I believe this would be Undressed. I might be wrong, and am too lazy to check, but that sounds like the show I'm thinking of.

I'm going to get like 5 and name them all after Power Rangers. ( The Green Ranger's my favourite. He was dreamy~ )
Um... which set? The Japanese sentai shows that they base the Power Rangers off of have a completely new team nearly every single year. See? They just celebrated their 30th anniversary last year, too...
(before you ask, I have a friend who watches the original shows. she downloads them in Japanese when they first become available online and then downloads them again as soon as there's an English fansub available) Oh, and my ex actually went to an acting workshop with the guy that plays (played?) the blue ranger when the series first started in the US. The ex made the comment that the guy was a bit of a snob and that he liked boys...

Kimberly (original pink) was fun, Trini (yellow) was okay... out of the originals, I'd definitely have to go with Kimberly.
              Quoth Broomjockey View Post
As for Trini, I dunno. She wasn't that hot, but she was fairly smart, so that made up for a lot. She didn't feel the need to wear a skirt in ranger mode either, so that made her infinitely cooler!

Fun fact: In the original, the Yellow ranger was a guy. Only Pink had that little skirt thing going on because Pink was the only girl on that team. So that person in the yellow costume jumping around when they use the original footage is a guy.... (I see Juwl beat me to it, among others) I don't really know the breakout of the other seasons they've butchered for the American version, but most of the time, at least one guy is genderswapped, since several of the teams have no girls at all.

Today I learned that to teenagers there are two line ups for the bus. The real one and the one they make up on their own.
What, you thought that shool-age kids lined up for buses? Heck, I don't think I've seen an actual line for a bus since I was in 5th grade! Sometime over the summer when I moved from grade school to middle school, the idea of lines for buses went out of vogue and it hasn't made a comeback, yet.

My friend who likes the sentai shows also likes the Sailor Moon series, both American and Japanese (which she considers to be two completely different shows) She used to have the hots for Mercury, till they introduced Neptune & Uranus. She has plushies of those two she keeps with her and takes fan pics with. They have their own webpage. She's got one of Patrick Stewart holding the dolls from some convention. I think she'd die of pure bliss if she could manage to get a shot of either her or the dolls with Johnny Depp.

As mentioned in other threads, I was Sailor Jupiter for Halloween one year. The friend was Sailor Mercury and a third friend went as Tuxedo Kamen.... er... Mamoru... er... Tuxedo Mask. If anyone cared, Mamoru means "protector" in Japanese.

While working a promotion this summer the girl I was wth (who became a friend) approached a woman to see if she was interested in the contest we were running.
Well the woman wasn't and as we're walking away I say, "Ok thank you, anyway." and my coworker says, "Have a kid."
:wtf" have a kid? She MEANT to say, "have a nice day," but for some reason it came out WAY wrong. haha.

Sailor Moon was the very first anime I was ever obsessed with. In the fourth grade. And I just loved Sailor Venus! I never saw the later parts of the show, though. I was young and didn't know how to get ahold of fansubs, so all I got was the hilariously-edited Uranus/Neptune era. Boy, making them cousins just made it soooo wrong.

I'll try to restrain myself, but when I start talking Sailor Moon (my favorite anime series EVER), I tend to go on and on...

Favorite sailor senshi? Hard to pick a fave. I'm a sucker for blondes, so Usagi and Minako are obvious picks. There's something so extraordinarily captivating about Usagi's naive, childish nature, but at the same time she's a true romantic at heart and when the fighting comes, she'll protect her loved ones to the end. There's something to like about everyone, I think. Ami's shyness, Rei's inner fire, Makoto's mothering nature, Minako's fun-loving sense of adventure, Haruka's sense of honor (even if it means sacrificing her loved ones - the polar opposite of Usagi), Michiru's grace, Hotaru's mystique (she's underage, I'll leave her alone -_-), Setsuna's.... hmm, we didn't really get to know her as herself, so I'll leave it at that. Taiki and Yaten were kind of annoying at times, but gotta give bonus points to Seiya for almost converting Usagi to "our" team (Slicie and me, that is). Although I don't really know how the logistics work when it comes to the Three Lights, because they are women who turn into men to hide from Galaxia but turn into women again to fight.

And who couldn't love Sailor Galaxia? Beatiful, elegant, and can destroy entire galaxies. What more could a girl want?

I probably relate most to Ami, with a little Usagi and Rei thrown in the mix. Shy and quiet most of the time, but sometimes getting overly excited about the little things or letting my temper get the best of me. A little Minako, too, since I put my whole heart into what I do.

My SO is eerily like Michiru. Soft-spoken, graceful, always quick to give me a verbal jab when I'm getting passionate about something. She even plays violin (as do I, though neither of us have touched them since high school). The similarities are not what brought me to her, but they're kind of fun to point out.

As bad as the dub was, I still managed to fall in love with the series. Then I discovered the wonders of "fansubs" and felt cheated by what they gave us. Though I have to admit, the VA who voiced Usagi when Cloverway took over the dub from DiC didn't make me want to stab myself in the eye with the nearest sharp object every time she spoke. And the dub Professor Tomoe was every bit as fun to watch as the original.
