Oh yes, I saw the first few eps. It was fantastically awful. Luna as a hand puppet sealed it.

I remember they changed Neptune and Uranus to really affectionate "cousins" in the American version. But that somehow made it rather creepy. >.>

My friend likes to call them "kissing cousins." They didn't even show the episode they were introduced in the first time around in the US because the enemy in that particular show wore a costume consisting of 3 strategically placed stars...

Speaking of live action Sailor Moon, have any of you seen any of the stage shows? My friend belongs to the official fan club for them, and she is a part of the major group that does fansubbing on them. She actually saw one of them in person when she last visited her family over there. One thing she found particularly fitting is that one of the most recent Black Ladies played Chibiusa when she was little.

It's terrible, there's no denying it. But it could have been far worse. If you are one of the lucky few who haven't seen the Haim Saban version of Sailor Moon that he pitched to TOEI when they were offering the rights for US production, I can probably dig it up. But you have to really want it. The promo has been known to make eyes bleed.

And yeah, the "cousins" thing was retarded. Most of their realationship is very subtle anyway, so it's not like OMG HOT LESBIAN ACTION all over the place. Besides that, the dub of the Sailor Moon R movie made Mamoru look incredibly gay with Fiore, then there was the episode of Super S where they turned a little boy into a girl because he grows to idolize Chibi Moon and at the very end wears a Sailor suit in honor of her, but they only succeeded in making it look like Chibi-Usa was lesbian.

Yeah, Stars will never, ever fly over here. Girls disguised as boys who change back into girls and one of them has the hots for Usagi. Then Usagi and Galaxia spend half the final episode naked. Maybe it's for the better. I couldn't stand it to see the great villians of that story get generic, terrible, emotionless voice acting, especially Sailor Iron Mouse (soooo cute) and Galaxia.

Actually, that was the episode where Hotaru was revealed as Mistress 9 and they found out her father was their enemy. And they cut the episode during the first run of the dub because they painted one big star covering the Diamohn's body to cover the "naughty" bits.

Then they cut the episode in Super S where Rei got the Flame Sniper ability for a similarly nearly-nude enemy.

I loved the green ranger. He was always by far my favorite ranger...especially when he was evil. Go dragonzord go!

I sort of got out of touch with the series after the second set of zords...you know, the red dragon, etc. Whatever came after that just wasnt the same anymore...

I also had an obsession with sailor moon. If I could afford it, I'd buy the whole thing in japanese. The subtitled movies were so much better than the English dubs ever were. When I was a bit skinnier, I went as Sailor Neptune for Halloween... Dyed my hair blue and everything.

And I gotta agree- Voltron in it's original form was the BEST. FORM BLAZING SWORD....ROOOOAR! If you scope pics of me in High School, I always have the"Voltron Pose".

My vote is for the Pink Ranger. Amy Jo. She had a couple of nude pics surface after the series too. Didn't affect her, because she is still working.

What, you thought that shool-age kids lined up for buses? Heck, I don't think I've seen an actual line for a bus since I was in 5th grade! Sometime over the summer when I moved from grade school to middle school, the idea of lines for buses went out of vogue and it hasn't made a comeback, yet.

you actually remember that? that is kinda scary... all I can remember from waiting for the bus during school was that at least once a week someone's pants would end up coming down and I did my best to make sure it wasn't mine (funny that i've tried to block those memories for some reason).

Oi... so much to respond to in this thread XD

First: GK, I love your posts, I couldn't breath after reading this one! Literally, I was laughing too hard to inhale much in the way of oxygen, and almost lost a mouthful of mountain dew all over my monitor. It went on my shirt instead... most of it... some when into my lungs...


Secondly: Power Rangers is up to, at latest count, Overdrive over here. I gave up at Turbo as well. Voltron was t3h awesome, but damn if I don't need to find the original japanese, I can't stand Pig's dub anymore, even though he was always my favorite. (Go green midget! GO!) Kamen Rider is superior, as far as I've seen, and as far as Sentai shows go.

Thirdly: Sailor Moon... I still like that show, and I'm looking for a good torrent of a sub... I guiltily own Sailor Moon S on VHS... I think it's just a movie, but it may be a few episodes <.< Curse my fallible memory. Another show that completely changes from sub to dub? Ronin Warriors. Armor of Wildfire! Tao GI! <3 that show... I need to borrow my friend's DVDs again...

She obviously impressed them with her spontaneity, out-of-the-box-thinking, and willingess to relate to others on their intellectual level. She takes the time to notice small details. She's great at multitasking--can think, lie , and stare out the window at the same time. (Not that I'm calling her a liar, but really, who tells the strictest truth in a job interview?) She appreciates small, dumb things that will or should die soon, so she's qualified to handle clients.
