I think some of you guys are giving this woman too much credit. Personally, I hope she doesn't reproduce or if she does, doesn't pass down her dumb ass gene. Yes, there are apples-less apple pies, but to expect a restaurant that doesn't cater to vegans or whatnot to serve them is pure stupidity and to top it all of she was a total SC about it.

      What? Apples aren't vegan?

Sorry, I know what you meant, but I'm a sucker for irony.

I confused the hell out of the lady at Burger King once by ordering a Bacon Double Cheeseburger without bacon or cheese (it was part of an offer and worked out better than ordering a double burger).
I don't understand apple pie without apple though.

Yeah, I was expecting someone to see that. Though, I do know some vegans who won't eat out unless they know the place they are eating gets its food from pesticide free sources.

I couldn't quite believe that someone wanted an apple pie WITHOUT apples in it.
Not quite the same, but I am the type who likes chocolate chip cookies without the chocolate chips. I LOVE the cookie part, but don't like chocolate.

People think I am weird anyway, so this just adds to it.

Well, that is weird. You can have the same exact cookies without the chips if you really want. Of course, for whatever reason, you don't really find a straight cookie like that very often.

Had a woman come into the Olive Garden when I worked there and tried to order pasta e fagioli without the beans.

Pasta e fagioli means "pasta and beans."

My husband's favorite pie is a mock cherry pie that has no cherry anything in it, just cranberries and raisins. Although it's amazing how mixing cream of tartar and almond extract makes a cherry-flavored/tasting liquid.

It's hard wanting something unusual. For my mom's birthday she wanted a cake that was like those old-fashioned wedding cakes, you know, white cake and white icing. Not even vanilla, just "white". I had one well-known local bakery essentially throw me out when I continued to argue that there was such a thing. She also kept asking "but what kind of filling?"

At Pennsic War, there is an infamous alcoholic beverage known as "Strawberry Suprise." Here's a little blurb about it:
                    http://www.midrealm.org/middlebridge...9703/0843.html

Untill I read this link, I never knew what was in it. I only knew what wasn't in it. Strawberries.

And that wasn't the biggest surprise, evidently.

No, I've never drunk the stuff. I didn't get to be a crotchety old broad by being stupid.

I think I will go ahead and earn the right to call myself stupid.

As a note, there appear to be two completely different drinks with the name "Strawberry Surprise."

One is the scary one, and the other is listed under "kids" drinks.

Oh, it's definately not a kids drink.

RetailWorkHorse, you going to Pennsic? If not, maybe I can get the recipe, I dunno. I seriously doubt anyone's ever asked them for it.

                            This.. is a bit strange.
Why can't she go to a store and buy a damn pie crust then?
                            Makes no sense..
What they want is the pie and the gooey stuff inside, but no apples.

                            Strange, I know.

Only the worm-free apples are vegan.
