Perhaps he's Jewish and his Sabbath is Saturday, therefore going out for breakfast on Sunday isn't actually indicative of his own "religiousness". He didn't actually try and proselytise to you, did he? So he was hardly a SC about it.

I probably would've said I'm an atheist, just to see the look on his face.
Nah. Tell them you're pagan. That'd cause them to have a freak out.

The part I can't understand is why a friend of mine who works in a Wiccan Supply Store was asked the "Don't you follow the Sabbath?" question by someone who comes in and buys incense on Sundays.

      Uhm...Wiccan...don't have a Sabbath.

        Here's what I do.

I tell them I have a 'NEW' belief - as I just have a promotion in my alternate job to Marketing CEO of Limbo Inc, the Bureacracy of the Afterlife. Oh sure, it takes us a week to get to you in the queue (there ARE 150,000 times twenty people in front of you, SIR!!!) and another week to recollate your file to decide which plane to send you next, but all our clients leave satisfied and we as a company date back millennia!!

They back off at my sunny grin.

(Limbo Inc. is a short story I plan to write for my dissertation next year.)

Now I can't wait to use my version:

          "Have you found Jesus?"

"Why, yes, I have, and I gave him right back to you. Did you lose him again?"

Once again, returning to the topic of religious proselytizers, I and a few friends were out job-hunting for one of the friends Monday. We were walking outside a grocery store with a name like a fairy tale boy who was no bigger than a finger...

Some guy looks up as we walk past, and says, "Well, Jaysus bless you." (Texan twang in hand...)

I was this close to replying, "I doubt it. Luminous hates it when other Gods infringe on his territory."

Both of my friends are men of the non-straight persuasions, so, assuming the guy wasn't just saying it to be talking, no, none of us would've been 'blessed by Jaysus'.
              "I call murder on that!"

Why not? Jesus never discriminated. Not all Christians hate and despise gays. Some of us *gasp* even have gay ministers and manage to get along without spontaneously combusting.

Are you in Texas, by any chance?
The combination of Texas and Christian makes the probability that the guy hated non-straights even more...

OK, everyone. If you want to start a religious debate, do it at Fratching. Such things do not belong here, and if this thread continues down its current path, it will be shut down.
