Dave, for whatever reason, chooses the tag "vacation_rentals_suck" here, not "Dave", and so we should respect that and call him such. VRS is just an abbreviation of the obviously preferred name.

It's borderline mentally handicapped to expect a company to tell its customers that they can get a better deal with a competitor, and I for one would not expect them to do so just because other companies might.

There's a big diff, however, between saying you're getting our best deal (while not mentioning that other places have even better deals) and saying that our offer is the best you will find anywhere.

I read Dave's first post to mean the girl had said her offer was the best anywhere.

If that was untrue, I can see how he'd be pissed.

But that doesn't mean he deserves to get anything. After all, the better offer might have emerged after he booked his vacation. And I don't think it's her job to monitor the competition's prices.

Once you start telling customers things about prices, then at least be clear and correct about what you're saying.

But as I said, the guy is a world-class shit who doesn't deserve anything he's not willing to pay for. No mercy to scammers. Which is what this guy is.

I took it to mean that that was VRS company's best rate. Generally when booking with hotel, airline, etc., and you ask for the best rate, it's understood it's with that specific company. Doesn't include other companies.

It's the guests' (who was a woman btw) problem that she didn't comparison shop.
