Actually, porn may NOT be recession-proof. You may have forgotten, or may not have heard, that the porn industry was itself talking about asking the government for a bailout.

The porn industry is full of people that will do any strange thing for money whether they are doing well or not. Asking for a bailout doesn't even require lube.

Cosmetic industry is booming as well. When we get hagglers I tell them about the "Lipstick Index" which states that as the economy gets worse, more cosmetics are purchased. Cosmetic are a kind of small luxury to make women (and some men!) feel better about themselves at a very bad time.
