Is a Civic even that economic? I may be wrong, but I thought they had a rather bad fuel economy for their size.
      Quoth Wikipedia
      Civic has a 3 or 5 door hatch featuring a 1.4 VTEC, 1.8 VTEC (5.5–9 km/litre in city, 11.2–13.7 km/litre on highway), or 2.0l (Type-R) engines (5.5–8.1 km/litre in city, 8–10 km/litre on highway), as well as a powerful and economical 2.2 N22A i-CTDi diesel (140BHP) which does 0–60 mph in 8.6 seconds and fuel economy is 38.3 MPG 10–12 km/litre in city and 11–14 km/litre on the highway
It doesn't sound very impressive to me.
The second one, next time you will have had time to plan. Tell the manager now and plan for it.

1st Story: ...Sooooo...Mr. Civic was parked illegally...Which means that, had said employee backed out and squished his Civic, the SC would have been At Fault AND gotten ticketed for double-parking (and probably for obstructing a roadway). To say nothing of the fact that it sounded like he was actively trying to start a fight, or worse...And he definitely crossed the line into Harrassment.

2nd story: o_O Where was this ...this person raised that she thinks that this sort of shit is normal?!

They once were pretty economical, but like many cars, they've "bulked-up" over the years. Still, 38.3mpg isn't bad by US standards. It's not as good as the 40-45mpg I get in my Corolla...

Anybody else but me find it rather ironic that the person claiming somebody else was 'retarded' only seemed to know one word?

No one has to deal with that sort of verbal abuse, but I can understand why the OP didn't call the manager over, it really can shock you when someone just starts on you the minute you start serving them. Having said that, if it were me, I think I would have said "I beg your pardon!" in absolute shock, prompting probably more abuse. Then I woulda rang the bell...not three times for management, but twice for security reasons :3

I also walk and use public transport n_n

                I can't remember who, but someone was saying they hate the term "mentally retarded". Well, before people started using the term "retard" as an insult, it was the proper term. But every time a new term gets used, it seems to turn into an insult later on. Spastic stopped being used because people started saying "spaz" in a derogotory manner. Heck, even now, we tend to use the term "special needs" and "speshul" is even an insult ^^;;

People like the first one are the reason why I'd prefer to be called a conservationist instead of an environmentalist. When I do things that are beneficial for the environment, I do it so future generations can enjoy it, not for my own ego gratification or personal agenda.

My response in those circumstances would have been to look around for the hidden cameras and scriptwriters. It's the sort of thing you only see in punked type programs on the TV. Incredible.

                      I know.

I'm reading it and thinking, unbelievable!!!
You really don't see this kind of stuff every day outside of a movie script. LOL

Actually, I find it very believable, sadly. Some people really do get their jollies off of abusing folks who aren't allowed to fight back.

Both of those worthless assholes should have been banned from the store. The second one was even teaching her child to be just as nasty as she was! I sincerely hope Karma bites them big time and forces them to have to take customer service jobs to pay the rent! Then they'll get the jerks screaming hateful names at them and they'll be the ones in the breakroom in tears.

Damn, the first SC was a whackadoo, the second one was the retard, IMO. I mean really, teaching her kid to act like her, look down on other people and treat them like shit?!! Nice parenting, RETARD!

I wish i had called management on the second one. I really do. At the time I was just stunned by the whole thing and trying to get the b-tch out of my life quicker. Dumb, of me, I know.

Crescent Cat you are absolutely right, that b-tch bragged about never having to work. i graduated high school in the same class as her. She was from a rich family. Proof that money can't buy class.
So this was someone that knew you. Sounds like she may have graduated high school, but she certainly never outgrew it.

The Civic Nutter makes me feel bad for driving a Civic now. Mind you, I didn't get a Civic because it was more environmentally friendly. I got a Civic because it suited my needs. The fact that it's nicely fuel efficient is just a bonus.

I'll second the "retard" inexcuseability. I never got that kind of abuse when I worked in retail-- being 6'2" and broad in the shoulders helps keep the bullies away-- but the second they started calling me a "retard" and refused to stop, I'd have straight-up walked away, after telling them "I'm not paid to put up with this."
