WAH. So cute. Thank you for saving him.

I will definitely be back to look at the cute many many times... I miss my piggy. Man, he died over fifteen years ago. D:

G.P.'s favourite thing (aside from the sound of the crisper drawer being opened) was when we took the top of his cage outside in the grass in the shade and put him under it. If you do this, only use grass that isn't treated with pesticides or weed killers and that's far away from roads (and therefore months of exhaust fumes), and stay with him at all times so that he doesn't get too hot or cold and to scare predators away. It's the slowest but cutest way to mow a lawn.

      Grrr...

I hate people who treat their animals badly. It's just so sick to that to creatures who depend on us. I'm glad you were able to rescue this little guy. He is too cute! What really disturbs me about this whole situation was not just the conditions little Pippin was left in but the fact that there was a set trap in his room. You have to wonder what he was planning on doing with that... Thankfully, we'll never have to find since he is in good hands now.

We used to do this to our first guinea pig when I was really really little. Oh, that almost ended bad.

Once, I put her out, and promptly forgot about her, because I was like six and my attention span wasn't that long. So as the sun got higher and it got warmer, she figured out how to escape, and she crawled through the fence and hid under our neighbor's shed. Mom had to use a water hose to coax her back. Mom was able to get her back, though. I wasn't allowed to play with the guinea pig unsupervised after that.

My landlord misses my last guinea pig because I would go through the yard and flower beds and weed all the dandelions for him to eat, which then saved my landlord the trouble of weeding himself. He'll probably be happy I have a new weed-eater now.

Is anyone else disturbed by the fact that he tried to catch the guinea pig with a mouse trap?

What a cute little guinea pig! I used to have gerbils in my family while growing up. That picture really took me back there! I'm glad you were able to save it!

Fortunately the trap wasn't baited, but yes. It wouldn't have killed him, had he set it off, but it would have seriously injured him. It was pretty messed up. The whole situation was pretty messed up, and that added a lot to it.

So, guess who is standing in my lobby RIGHT NOW?

He got dropped off in a cab. Let's see...he left on Saturday, it's now Monday night...hmmm.

I told him due to the condition that I found the room in, I could not rent to him. He's waiting for another cab to pick him up.

I took his bags of crap and dropped them in front of him. I think I might have broken some of his dishes. Oh well.

He was pissed. He also seemed slightly confused at the bags of stuff. But he didn't argue with me.

I didn't mention the guinea pig. He hasn't brought it up. If he does, I won't say I kept him, but I WILL give him a piece of my mind. I want to see if he even remembers the little guy, though. Methinks he doesn't.

I'm hiding back here, 'cause I don't even want to look at the bastard!

ETA: He apparently got impatient waiting for the cab, since he found a shopping cart to load his crap into and left, so I cancelled his cab. Hopefully he wasn't expecting to meet up with that cab further down the road. Screw it, I hope he was!

ETA2: I should also add that he was specifically wanting the room he had before. What, was he expecting the guinea pig to still be there?!?! I don't know, 'cause I didn't bring it up. But he really wanted that room.

That's because he had already scent-marked it as his room.

Are you referring to the guinea pig or the guest? Wait...no, you don't need to answer that. My brain just went places I didn't need it to.

I don't suppose you were able to charge him for the cost of the extra cleanup and damage to the room due to...uh...unpleasant substances? Or at least for the extra days?

Why couldn't you report this guy? Extensive property damage and animal cruelty/mishandling?

So I've been taking a closer look at Pippin, and sending pics to some people..and I think the guy at the pet store who was uncertain guessed wrong and that he may actually be a she.

So, I may need to rename him...er, her.

In keeping with my tradition of naming guinea pigs after LOTR characters, my options appear to be:

                              Arwen
                              Eowyn
                              Galadriel
                              Rosie
                              Goldberry
                              Others?

(Note: Shelob is so totally vetoed!)

I think Pippin could still be a decent girl's name. But I have to go with Goldberry, it's happy and trippy and somehow seems appropriate for a wee piggy.
